TAIGER actively participates in the SmartNOC research project for the intelligent management of communication network control centers.
The objective of the SmartNOC project in which TAIGER is included is the research in various technologies, tools, methodologies and knowledge aimed at developing solutions for the intelligent and secure management of NOCs such as Industry 4.0, Smart Cities or critical infrastructures. TAIGER works on improving the design and development of efficient data storage in Big Data environments, deploying systems and tools aimed at improving access to databases, and also addresses research and improvement in persistence policies for each type of data.
Funded through the CIEN call of the CDTI, it will integrate the most advanced technologies to process the information received from the different transmission hubs, intelligently manage alarms and incidents and try to predict future incidents based on the system’s history and the information provided by third parties (meteorology, electricity suppliers, etc.).
The project is being led at technical level by Retevisión (Cellnex Group), together with TAIGER, GSERTEL, GMV, SCOPE and OPTARE, and several research institutions: Fundación Centro Tecnológico de telecomunicaciones de Galicia (GRADIANT), Instituto Tecnológico de Castilla y León (ITCL), University Carlos III of Madrid (UC3M) and the University of Vigo.
TAIGER brings its expertise in AI, big data or storage systems, disruptive technologies in the technological landscape, with the aim of essentially providing better data management, technological solutions that are expected to be incorporated into the new generation of network control centers, providing security, efficiency and reliability to information systems.
The SmartNOC project budget is 5.84 M€ over 42 months and is financed by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation through the Center for Industrial Technological Development, with reference number IDI-20210856.
