Taiger is integrated into the Faro project with the Taiger CorpusCore tool: Exploring the Impact of R+D+i Activities in the ICT Sector
The impact of research, development and innovation (R+D+i) of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) on the scientific-technological capabilities of the workforce is a focus of recent study by the Ministry of State for the Information Society and Digital Agenda (SESIAD).
About Faro Project
SESIAD has started an ambitious project called Proyecto Faro, whose main objective is to analyze and promote the development of new job opportunities through training programs, study plans and educational offers adapted to market demand. This analysis is intrinsically associated with the collection of data from various sources to study the triangle of knowledge based on research, education and innovation.
One of the highlights of the Faro Project is the special attention to the areas of energy, health and ICT. In this context, the project seeks to evaluate the impact of public support for R+D+i activities, identifying and selecting additional sources of information that collect the various impacts in these areas.
The tool: Taiger CorpusCore
To carry out this initiative, TAIGER has been selected as a technological partner. TAIGER will develop an advanced tool called Taiger CorpusCore, open and accessible in nature, it will be able to search, store and manage information from various sources. This tool, based on natural language processing and Big Data technologies, will allow the creation and management of documentary corpora that will be delivered and uploaded to the contractor’s platform.
TAIGER, a company with extensive experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning and knowledge representation, will use its know-how and technologies previously developed in its R+D department to improve the performance and precision of the system to be implemented in the Faro Project.
Conclusions:
The Faro Project, implementing advanced technological tools such as Taiger CorpusCore, seeks to offer comprehensive support to the decision-making process in the field of R+D+i, including the perspectives of the industry, the labor market and the educational offer. The project is emerging as a prototype that can be extended to other areas in the future, allowing the indirect impact of the R+D+i field to be evaluated and strengthening the ecosystem of the knowledge society.
With the collaboration of TAIGER and its Taiger CorpusCore tool, specifically, SESIAD advances in the exploration of the effects of R+D+i activities on training and the labor market, thus contributing to improving competitiveness in the ICT sector. .
