The Smart City Expo World Congress 2019 saw more than 24,000 delegates, 1,000 booths from 700 cities coming together to showcase the latest in smart city technologies. The event held in Barcelona on the 19th – 21st November was attended by global government dignitaries representing major cities as well as global tech brands such as Microsoft, MasterCard, LinkedIn and Huawei
Speaking at the opening session of Smart City Expo World Congress, Minister-in-charge of the Smart Nation initiative, Vivian Balakrishnan, shared that Singapore hopes to be a “living laboratory” for developing artificial intelligence (A.I.) solutions globally – an ambition that plays to its strengths.
Taiger was part of the Singapore showcase of home grown tech companies alongside ST engineering, DBS, Igloohome, Socash and others. As part of the visit, Taiger hosted Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and shared how Taiger’s A.I. Assistant is playing a proactive role as a daily companion to citizens. It can facilitate timely information, personalised recommendations and friction-less transactions for citizens from various walks of life across different moments of life.
On the interaction with Minister Vivian, Jaron Ong, Sales Director at Taiger, said: “Minister Vivian is very well-versed with technology and cognisant of A.I’s potential to enhance the way we work and live.”
Prior to the event, Minister Vivian hosted an intimate luncheon for the founders and senior management of the Singapore companies.
“It is no surprise to see a strong showing of home grown tech companies here representing Singapore. Singapore is experiencing waves of technology renewal. In my interactions with Dr Vivian, I shared with him that Singapore’s success is a sterling example of the government’s agility and ability to act in partnering tech companies and nurturing them for the global stage,” said Dr Sinuhe Arroyo, Founder and CEO at Taiger.
The four days event saw a display of the world’s most advanced technologies covering a wide range of applications including ioT, cyber security, urban mobility, city planning amongst others.
